Cops Release Sketch In Vicious Beatingh

Police last week released a sketch of a suspect wanted for beating a woman in her Jackson Heights apartment building on May 11.

Cops said the suspect followed the 22-year-old victim into her building on 77th Street at about 8:30 p.m. on May 11 and followed her to her third-floor apartment.

The suspect jumped the woman as she was heading into her apartment and pummeled her before running off, police said.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a facial fracture and swelling of the neck, shoulder and arm, authorities said.

It was not immediately clear why the suspect carried out the brutal beating.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned male in his 30s, approximately 5-feet, 11-inches tall. He had a dirty, messy Afro tucked beneath a baseball cap at the time foe attack, police sources said.
