Take Good Care Of Yourself

As we prepare the Queens Gazette Medical Edition for the summer of 2015, we think back to The Peter Latos Prostate Cancer Foundation’s free PSA Screening event, “One Simple Blood Test,” we went to recently, and we realize how important it is for everyone to go for regular checkups and get all recommended screenings and exams. Whether it is for cancer of the prostate, breast, cervix, and colon; also for high blood pressure, cholesterol levels, blood sugar, bone density, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, oral health, immunization and anything your physician recommends, go in and get yourself checked. In case anything is found to be not quite right, it is always better to take care of it right away – the sooner the better. Early detection is the key to successful treatment of any condition. So put your mind at ease, get a clean bill of health, and/or treatment, and make any lifestyle adjustments that may be necessary. We are fortunate to have great medical care at our disposal here in Queens. Thanks to constant improvements in screening and treatment in the world of medicine, people are living much longer (and healthier) than they used to. Sometimes people take better care of their cars than themselves. We want you to take good care of yourself, and we wish you many healthy years ahead.
