Greater Woodhaven Development To Hold Dinner Dance

Maria A. Thomson Executive Director of the Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation and Woodhaven Business Improvement District announced they are   holding their “Dance Into Spring” 36th anniversary dinner dance celebration.

The honorees are:
Woman of the Year 2015 – Chris Ward, a recently retired teacher in appreciation of her encouraging the Forest Park School students to assist the GWDC and WBID in all of their projects and events.

Man of the Year 2015 – Frank Castelli, owner of Beat the Clock Printing, located on Woodhaven’s Jamaica Avenue.

Community Activist Award 2015 – Eleanor Errante, a well-known, perennial activist and supporter of GWDC and WBID and their good causes.

Special Recognition Award 2015 – NYPD Sergeant Frank DeMarco, of the 102nd Precinct, a local man who has patrolled Woodhaven for over 15 years, as one of New York’s Finest.
Special Recognition Award 2015 – DSNY Superintendant Keith Maisel, formerly of Queens Borough 9, who has supported Woodhaven through the years before his promotion.  

Dance Into Spring will take place on Friday, June 12, at 7:30 pm, at Woodhaven Manor, 96-01 Jamaica Avenue. Tickets for this great party with DJ are priced at only $65.00 for a wonderful evening of enjoyment with good food, (with their own chef) good music and good company.
