34th Avenue Bodega Targeted In Attempted Theft

Two individuals attempted to rob the US Brazil bodega on 34th Avenue on May 18 at around 5 a.m.

Their efforts, however, were thwarted by one of the employees.

The suspects – a man described as a Hispanic, approximately five feet, nine inches tall, 160 pounds, with a light complexion and short hair; and the other, a woman, was described as a Hispanic, approximately five feet and three inches tall, 130 pounds, with a light complexion, long, brown hair and brown eyes – entered the bodega at 41- 02 34th Avenue and asked to buy a lighter. When the register was open, the male suspect reached over and attempted to steal money while telling the employee that he had a gun and would use it.

After a brief struggle, the employee was able to prevent the man from taking the register. The two suspects then fled the location in a white Fiat, heading eastbound on 34th Avenue. The employee was not injured.
