State Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos and his son, Adam, 32 were arrested and hit with federal bribery and extortion charges on Monday, in which the powerful office holder used his high office to allegedly set up jobs paying commissions to Adam, a title insurance salesman.

The scheme was described in detail by Manhattan US Attorney Preet Bharara, who a few months ago presented a case against then Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, who later resigned from his powerful post.

Skelos, 67, proclaimed his innocence, saying he had “utmost respect for our judicial system.”
