Queens Through The Eyes Of The Artist

You never know what you’ll see driving around Queens. This artist, Daniel G. daSilva of Ridgewood, puts the finishing touches on his thesis work. A student at the New York Academy of Art, the artist was painting a landscape where the Brooklyn-Queens and Long Island Expressways meet. In the background is Calvary Cemetery. “I chose this spot because it has three elements, the cemetery from 200 years ago, the expressway from 50 years ago and the modern factories all converging at the same point sharing the same space, yet separate from one another.” Above Photo Jason D.
