Mayor Hosts Greek Independence Day Reception With Archbishop Dimitrios And Constantinides

Photo by Dan Miller/DMD IMAGESOn Wednesday April 1, Mayor DeBlasio and First Lady Chirlane McCray hosted a reception at Gracie Mansion in honor of Greek Independence. Archbishop Dimitrios of the Americas and Queens Councilmember Costa Constantinides stood on the platform with the mayor and the First Lady.

Archbishop Dimitrios offered the opening prayer. Mayor DeBlasio spoke passionately about the contributions of the Greek community in New York. Prior to the public speaking portion of the reception the mayor presented Archbishop DImitrios with a proclamation in honor of Greek Independence Day.
