Delta Plane Skids Off LaGuardia Runway Immediately After Landing

At approximately 11:10 a.m., Delta flight 1086 from Atlanta skidded off the runway number 13 at LaGuardia Airport right after it landed, according to a Federal Aviation Administration official.

The plane, a McDonnell Douglas MD-88 aircraft, skidded during the snowstorm and the airport was closed immediately after the incident occurred. The FAA said the airport is expected to reopen at 7 p.m.

"Customers deplaned via aircraft slides and have moved to the terminal on buses. Our priority is ensuring our customers and crew-members are safe. Delta will work with all authorities and stakeholders to look into what happened in this incident," the company said in its statement.

No serious injuries have been reported and FDNY and other first responders are on the scene.
