Cops Hunt Jackson Heights Gunman

BY LIZ GOFF
Police last week released a surveillance photo (see photo) of a man who attacked and robbed a man at gunpoint in Jackson Heights on January 7.

Cops said the suspect was captured on surveillance footage peering into windows at P.S. 22, The Alfred Zinberg School on 21st Avenue at about 10:40 p.m. on January 7.

When the suspect spotted the victim walking outside the school a short while later, he ambushed the man at gunpoint and forced him to hand over his wallet and cell phone, police said. The suspect fled in an unknown direction.

Police sources said it is unclear of the victim is a school employee who was being watched by the suspect prior to the attack.

The suspect is described as a black or Hispanic male, approximately 25-years-old, 5-feet,8-inches tall, 170 pounds, with dark, braided hair.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Crime Stoppers HOTLINE at 1-800-577-TIPS or click on www.nypdcrimestopers.com.
