Councilmember Jimmy Van Bramer is joined by Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Officers Corey Sarro and William Caldarera.   On January 22, City Council Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer was joined by Mayor Bill de Blasio and his colleagues to honor Officers Corey Sarro and William Caldarera of the 108th Precinct with a Proclamation, on behalf of the City Council, for saving a senior’s life in Long Island City last December. After determining the senior was not breathing and did not have a heartbeat, Sarro began performing chest compressions while Caldarera retrieved a defibrillator. After several attempts to resuscitate him, Sarro and Caldarera were successfully able to revive the elderly man and have him transported to Elmhurst Hospital Center in stable condition.
