Cops Hunt Serial Bank Bandit

Queens detectives are searching for a suspect who has stolen more than $10,000 in three bank robberies in Middle Village and Forest Hills since last November.

The suspect began his crime wave at a CapitalOne Bank branch on Metropolitan Avenue near 75th Street at about 3:10 p.m. on November 24. The police said the suspect passed a note to a teller demanding cash and fled with approximately $750 in the first robbery.

The same suspect walked into another CapitalOne branch on 70th Avenue in Forest Hills at about 11:25 a.m. on December 9, where he passed another note and made off with $2,600, police said.

The suspect pulled off his largest heist at about 11:30 a.m. on December 30, when he fled with about $7,400 from an Astoria Bank on 78th Street in Middle Village.

The suspect, believed to be in his 30s, is approximately five feet, 10 inches tall and has a medium build.

The Hotline is offering a $2,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
