AGED is a beautiful, modern steakhouse and seafood restaurant in the heart of Forest Hills on the famed "Restaurant Row" of 70th Road. With five years of operation under its belt, it's not surprising that AGED has earned an excellent reputation amongst the local clientele who come regularly and newcomers alike who are drawn to the excellent food, service, and ambience. It is run professionally by Paul Singh and his expert staff who see to your every need, even anticipating your needs with a smile.

The modern, masculine interior incorporates lots of sleek, smooth wood paneling and rich, leather banquettes for you to sink into and enjoy the attentive service and wonderful food. Take your time and settle in as you sip on one of their creative cocktails such as the "Millennium", shaken with fig-infused vodka, pomegranate juice and a splash of champagne. The "Cuban Vision" is one of the signature cocktails at AGED made with fine rum, Grand Marnier, lime, mint and champagne. A great wine list will certainly have your favorite vintage, at reasonable prices and fine brews, whiskeys and scotch are proudly served with style.

AGED has so many options to start with including the impressive raw bar featuring fresh oysters of the day, chilled crabmeat, Little Neck clams, and cocktail shrimp. Our tuna tartar was extraordinarily fresh, minced finely and served with toasted bread and sliced cucumber ($14). Next, the escargots were perfectly executed and presented in the traditional plate with little 'wells' to hold each supremely tender snail, swimming in heady garlic, herb, butter sauce ($14). AGED does a fine job with the pan roasted crab cake, replete with sweet crabmeat, served with corn salsa and honey mustard dressing. Edward, our dedicated server recommended the beef short rib appetizer and the steak tips with garlic bread and mozzarella. The special appetizer of the evening was lobster meat atop a mound of iceberg lettuce and vegetables.....what a delicious treat, and there's plenty to share.

AGED entrées include the best in steak, seafood, and vegetarian options. The Meat Market offers prime filet mignon, a juicy, 20-ounce rib-eye steak or an impressive NY Strip that’s been dryaged for 28 days, imparting superior flavor and texture. My hanger steak was excellent, served with a side chimmichurri sauce and a ramekin of AGED house made steak sauce. The accompanying mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables rounded out this dish perfectly.

House specialties include an extra special sea bass, which was golden and crisp on the outside, protecting the flaky, juicy white fish, served with potato puree ($30). Indulge in lobster any way you choose, at market price. Chicken is perfectly roasted here and served with its own juice and fresh vegetables for the ultimate “comfort food”. A modern jambalaya combines beef, sausage, shrimp, chicken, and rice for a hearty dish for the soul ($23). Vegetarians have options as well such as tender eggplant layered with mozzarella di bufala and house made tomato sauce ($18).

AGED has nightly in-house specials such as Monday’s $1 oysters, Wednesday’s “all you can eat mussels” and Thursday’s Ladies Night when your entrée is free if you purchase a cocktail and an appetizer between 4-11pm. Enjoy a prix-fixed three course dinner from their signature menu for just $36 Sunday through Thursday. You must visit for AGED’s weekend brunch with tantalizing options such as steak and eggs platter, chocolate French toast, Monte Cristo sandwich, lamb sausage burger, and more. Brunch costs just $15.95 and includes unlimited champagne.

Though we were more than sated, we simply had to try the visually impressive crème brulee, served in a long, ceramic dish resembling a boat, garnished with a “mast” made from caramelized sugar. Paired with a digestif or coffee, this is a fine dessert indeed.

AGED is open seven days a week for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. There’s an Express Lunch Monday to Friday for just $10.95. For more information and gorgeous photos of AGED and its beautiful food, visit their Web site. Private parties can be arranged and they offer local delivery.
