Oasis Café and Bakery is your place to go for divine pastries, astounding cakes, cookies, puddings, and great bread for every day and special occasions. It doesn’t end there, as the expansive café and outdoor patio offer plenty of seating for cocktails, snacks, coffee sipping or a meal. It was lovely to see couples, friends and families enjoying café life here one pleasant evening. Very soon, you’ll be able to enjoy the World Cup Soccer matches broadcast from Brazil on big screens both indoors and outdoors on the cool and breezy patio. You won’t miss a thing and you can enjoy delicious food, an ice cold beer or specialty cocktail, and socialize at Oasis Café.

The Ambrosiados Family opened Oasis 27 years ago with a commitment to making quality baked goods. Indeed, Oasis’ variety of desserts is dazzling. Sparkling glass cases show off layers of red velvet cake, cheesecakes, Napoleons, tiramisu, carrot cake and more, all made from scratch using quality ingredients. The chocolate mousse cake stands a mile high with layers of moist cake and fluffy mousse. Desserts here are not overly sweet so you can taste the ingredients. Greek pastries include ‘ekmek’, and ‘galaktoboureko’, made with shredded wheat, house made custard and almonds. Melt-in-your-mouth ‘baklava’ and ‘kataifi’ are so good you’ll want to take them home in convenient trays. Traditional walnut cake is rich and moist with nuts and syrup, and semolina cake gets its distinctive texture from ground semolina, eggs and honey. We loved the Greek wedding cookies, coated in powdered sugar and the almond cookies made with sweet, chewy almond paste. There are loaves of Greek bread specially made with herbs from the island of Kios packed and ready to take home. This soft, delicious bread is slightly sweet and topped with sliced almonds and is a delicious treat for breakfast, tea time or a snack. The huge variety of European style pastries includes Napoleons, carrot cake, baba au rhum and strawberry tarts. Order a platter of assorted pastries for your next party and enjoy tiramisu, mocha cake and fruit tarts too. Sunday morning coffee goes great with crisp, flaky apple turnovers and almond croissants. The coffee drinks at Oasis Café are robust and flavorful served hot or iced.

Enter the café and outdoor patio and relax at a bistro table attended by friendly servers. The specialty cocktails are mixed to order and include tropical daiquiris flavored with real fruit, mojitos, passion fruit drinks with rum, cool coladas, and margaritas. Beer and wine hits the spot too. The menu at Oasis Café offers snacks and appetizers, salads, sandwiches, pan pizzas, and burgers. We shared an order of sizzling saganaki, made of sautéed cheese, topped with a squeeze of lemon and served with toast. House made flaky spinach pie or cheese pie makes a nice light lunch or snack anytime and there’s plenty to share. Order a Greek salad for the table and dig into crunchy, fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, chunks of creamy feta cheese and stuffed grape leaves ($7.75). There’s also a nice Caesar salad and they both can be topped with your choice of grilled chicken, or shrimp for a satisfying entrée. The sandwich grill presses some tasty Panini sandwiches made on light, crisp ciabatta bread. The Greek style ‘bifteki’ panino is made with nicely seasoned beef with cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. The Americano presses melted cheese and ham on ciabatta while the Oasis delight is made with turkey and provolone cheese. There’s a vegetarian option too and all these Pan pizzas come in small and large sizes, are made to order, and come hot from the oven. There are several varieties including the Greek pizza, topped with crumbled feta cheese, fresh tomatoes, black olives and oregano. The signature Oasis pizza is layered with tomato, basil and mozzarella, and the Hawaiian pizza has ham and pineapple. The small size is perfect for one ($6.95 and up) and the large will serve two ($12..50 and up). You’ll find a vegetable pizza too, which goes well with a Caesar salad.

While you watch the matches unfold, order Buffalo chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, or share a cheese or chicken quesadilla with your buddies along with an order of nachos loaded with the works. The burgers and turkey burgers here are great too, topped with cheese and bacon if you wish, served alone or with fries or salad. Philly cheese steak is paper thin, grilled steak piled onto a fluffy roll with grilled onions and peppers ($7.95).

With great cocktails, coffee drinks, snacks and meals, put Oasis on your list of ‘must visits’ this summer. The bakery has everything you could ask for everyday life or life’s special occasions. Oasis is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks. The prices are great and the service is friendly. Come watch World Cup Soccer at Oasis Cafe.
