Quintana, Danny Rusciello and Mike Scala rally for the reactivation of the abandoned Rockaway Beach Line at the intersection of Woodhaven Boulevard and Liberty Avenue. In an effort to strengthen and broaden public awareness for the reactivation of the abandoned Rockaway Beach Line, the Queens Public Transit Committee (QPTC) held a series of rallies on the Woodhaven Boulevard corridor on March 9, adjacent to the Rockaway Beach Line Railroad Right of Way.
The planned stops on Woodhaven Boulevard were at Queens Boulevard, Metropolitan Avenue, Jamaica Avenue with a final stop at Liberty Avenue. The QPTC advocated that faster transportation and more transportation options for Queens will provide additional access to social, economic and environmental opportunities.
The rally was well attended, and drew public support at each of the planned stops along the route. Future rallies are planned to recruit more supporters and members in their public crusade for better transportation for all Queens public transit riders.
