15 Years of Fun at McCann’s Pub & Grill

McCann’s Pub & Grill is the place to go for good food, perfectly poured pints, cocktails, Monday night football and more! You’ll be warmly greeted by the barman and Dina, the friendly manager while Paul Fogarty, the owner, maintains quality in all the food and beverages served. Indeed McCann’s has everything you’d want in a neighborhood pub: friendly atmosphere, sports, sports, sports, good food and lots of drink specials.

McCann’s offers “flights” of beer, whiskey, fine bourbons and scotch with samplings of three different varieties so you can find your favorite. There’s even a special Guinness menu with Black and Tans, Black Velvet, and Dark and Hazy. Handshaken specialty martinis are very popular, such as the pineapple upside, mixed with vodka, pineapple juice and liqueur. The blueberry pomegranate is a popular martini too, made with fruit-infused vodka. Each night of the week offers beer and snack specials to please the crowds. Enjoy Monday night football here with a dozen wings for $5 and $3 pints of Bud Light or Coors Light. Tap and snack Tuesdays run from 7pm to 1am. Crafty Wednesdays feature burgers and beer flights for $5. Thirsty Thursdays, Friday night flights and Saturday College Football all lead up to Sunday Football religious services. (Just kidding about that part).

Besides sports and drinks, Mc- Cann’s has a great menu with delicious food whether you crave some bar snacks, a salad, bowl of chili, a burger or a full entrée. I love the boneless chicken bites, with the same great sauces that wings are prepared in, without the bones and mess. Choose mild, medium, hot sauce or barbecue. Lump crab cakes are sweet and delicious, delicately pan fried and served with Napa cabbage slaw and chipotle mayo ($11). The steak tidbits rank number one in appetizers, with good reason. Top quality hanger steak is cooked to order then cut into bite-sized cubes and served over garlic bread with melted mozzarella ($12.). Loaded Nachos are great for sharing, loaded with cheddar, japaleños, black olives, and sour cream ($11). Crispy, oven-baked potato skins are filled with bacon and cheddar cheese and sour cream. Angus sliders are tiny burgers made with juicy beef, bacon, cheddar cheese and pickle, and as the name suggests, they go down easily with some frosty beer to follow. I must extol the virtues of McCann’s burgers, made to order and served in creative ways. The “McCann” is impressive with 100 percent Angus beef, maple glazed bacon and smoked Gouda cheese for a one of a kind taste. Have it placed on a pretzel bun and the combination of sweet, savory and smoky will have you licking the maple glaze from your fingers. The pretzel bun adds unique texture and flavor. There are turkey burgers, veggie burgers and a Cajun burger. The Cuban burger is made with pulled pork and a Southwest burger gets a kick from ancho pepper sauce. There are plenty of sandwiches and wraps on offer, made with plain or whole wheat tortillas. The Cajun chicken wrap is one of the most popular for its zesty seasoning, lettuce, tomato, bacon and mayonnaise. The new chicken Philly is a nice alternative to the classic Philly cheese steak and the unique “Pretzelwich” is ham and Swiss on that great pretzel bread. The California wrap is made with grilled chicken, guacamole, lettuce and tomato. A classic BLT sandwich or a Reuben will fill you up nicely.

If you prefer to have a complete entrée, try the penne alla vodka, with the chef’s secret recipe, or pasta alla McCann’s with sautéed mushrooms, onions, bacon and a touch of cream. Tilapia fish is flaky and moist, broiled with lemon and white wine, or tuck into a juicy hanger steak or a New York strip steak, cooked to order and served with country fried potatoes and fresh broccoli.

Visit McCann’s Pub & Grill seven days and nights a week. They’re open from 11am to 4am, and the kitchen stays open until 2am, serving snacks and meals. There are food and drink specials every night and all the games you can watch. Enjoy a friendly game of darts or billiards with your mates and have a great evening. Come for the good food, drinks, sports, fun and most of all for the friendly atmosphere.
