Demolition Of Astoria Home Marks End Of An Era

Photos Jason D. AntosPhotos Jason D. AntosThis rotten shell was all that remained of the dwelling that had stood on the northeast corner of 37th Avenue and 31st Street since the Victorian era.

The structure, which has been abandoned for decades and predates the elevated MTA trestle which was built around WWI, was razed so that it could be replaced with commercial space.
