Vallone On Safety Tour Visits Jackson Heights Civic

Councilmember Peter F. Vallone Jr. continued his Queens-wide Public Safety Tour by visiting the North Queens Homeowners Civic Association of Jackson Heights on February 14. Vallone, who is chair of the Public Safety Committee, outlined his vision for keeping Queens safe at the meeting. He discussed various safety issues, including graffiti, scams involving door-to-door solicitors and his efforts to get more police officers, among others. The councilmember also answered questions from very involved community members for over an hour. Vallone kicked off his borough-wide tour roughly a year ago. “It is very important for people to realize that certain crimes are up across Queens and to learn what they can do to stay safe,” said Vallone. “We all stay safe when communities are involved and more police are patrolling our streets.”
