Offer $2G Reward In Queensbridge Murder

Queens detectives are searching for a gunman who opened fire outside a Long Island City deli on February 2, killing an 18-year-old resident of the Queensbridge houses.

Cops said the unidentified victim was walking out of the grocery store on 41st Avenue near 21st Street at about 9:41 p.m. on Saturday when the lone gunman opened fire, striking the victim multiple times in the chest.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens, where he died a short while later, police said.

Police are uncertain what sparked the shooting, law enforcement sources said.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Crime Stoppers HOTLINE at 1-800-577-TIPS or click on www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.

The HOTLINE is offering a $2,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

Arrest In Woodside Child Molest

Police at the NYPD Child Abuse Squad last week arrested a 30-year-old Queens man charged with molesting an 8-year-old girl last year in the Woodside Houses.

Cops arrested Chris Echols on January 30 after he confessed to molesting the girl in her bedroom last November, police said.

The girl told police that she woke up in her bedroom on the night of the attack and saw a man standing in her bedroom with his pants down. The child said the man tried to force himself on her, but fled when she started to scream, police sources said.

Echols was charged with a criminal sex act, attempted sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child at his arraignment at Queens Criminal Court.
