Weprin Celebrates Opening of New District Office
Assemblymember David Weprin (District 24) welcomed new and familiar faces to his new district office on Union Turnpike in Fresh Meadows at an Open House party on January 13.
“We are thrilled to be here and to be meeting so many of our new constituents in the newly-redrawn state Assembly District 24,” said Weprin. “I am honored to represent you in Albany and be your voice on the issues we care about in Queens.”
Over coffee, bagels, and cream cheese, a number of the assemblymember’s colleagues in government stopped by for the event, including Congressmember Gregory Meeks, mayoral candidate and former City Comptroller Bill Thompson, state Senator Tony Avella, Assemblymember Ed Braunstein, new Assemblymember Nily Rozic, Councilmembers Karen Koslowitz, Dan Halloran, Mark Weprin, and Leroy Comrie. Also in attendance were Melinda Katz, former councilmember, assemblymember, and current candidate for Queens borough president, Martha Taylor, district leader and candidate for councilmember and District Leaders Rebecca Lynch and Yolanda Delacruz Gallagher.
The new Queens 24th Assembly District includes the communities of Bellerose, Bell Park, Briarwood, Glen Oaks, Hillcrest, Hollis Hills, Holliswood, Jamaica Estates, Jamaica Hills, Oakland Gardens, Queens Village, Richmond Hill, South Ozone Park, and Windsor Park.
