Queens Library Offers First Bengali Computer Workshop

Queens Library will be offering its first free computer workshop in Bengali on Saturday, January 26, 3 p.m. at the Central Library, 89-11 Merrick Boulevard, Jamaica. The topic will be how to use Google’s tools, including Internet searching, G-mail, Google maps and more. For more information, call 718-990-0883.

The workshop joins an already-robust schedule of computer workshops given at many levels, in English, Spanish and occasionally in other languages that are widely spoken in Queens. This new service is in response to the growing Bengali-speaking population in Queens.

Every Queens Library has free wi-fi, free computers for customers to use and instruction on how to use the Internet and computer basics, such as e-mail. Advanced learning goes all the way up to free certifications for the Microsoft Office suite, Quick Books, Comp-TIA and Sigma Six and more. For more information on technology training at Queens Library, phone 718-990-8625.
