Members of the Kiwanis Club of Astoria/Long Island City are joined by Quality Services for the Autism Community (QSAC) staff as they received the donated turkeys. The Kiwanis Club of Astoria/Long Island City and St. Andrew’s Church of Flushing donated more than 50 turkeys for low-income families affected by autism. In a longstanding tradition, the Kiwanians of Queens carried out the club’s mission to “serve the children of the world” by helping those most in need in the community.

The club’s support was particularly important this year in light of the impact of Hurricane Sandy and pressing need from families throughout the region. With the help of the Kiwanians and the generosity of others from throughout the community, Quality Services for the Autism Community (QSAC) was able to provide 50 families with a meaningful holiday meal at Thanksgiving.

During the holiday season, the community’s support of QSAC and their families has helped to ensure that they continue to meet the needs of the families they serve. To learn more about QSAC and how you can help to support their programs this holiday season, call 718-7-AUTISM, x2035 or e-mail donate@qsac.com.
