Marshall And Johnson & Johnson To Assist Storm Evacuees

 Queens Borough President Helen Marshall and Johnson & Johnson will team up to deliver Friday, November 9th a truckload of toiletries to hundreds of evacuees from Hurricane Sandy at Queens College.

 Another shipment will then be made to NYCHA developments on the Rockaway Peninsula.

        

“I am deeply grateful to Johnson & Johnson for their generosity to Queens during this difficult and tragic time,” said Marshall, after she toured areas in Rockaway, Broad Channel and Howard Beach on Thursday.

Updates in wake of Hurricane Sandy:

 

  • Doctors without Borders will move its medical clinic to the laundry room at Beach 31st Street and Seagirt Boulevard. The organization will also visit specific individuals with medicine. Those in need, should contact: Ms. Sabrina Plum at 646-326-4324.
  • Queens College can still use volunteers to assist upwards of 500 evacuees from Hurricane Sandy.
  • Majority of parks and playgrounds will re-open Friday. If you would like to volunteer to help the cleanup and recovery in parks and playgrounds, visit NYC Service to register and check back for updates.
  • American Legion post on Cross Bay Boulevard needs volunteers to help distribute food in the community.
