That’s what children learned last Sunday at Century 21 in Rego Park. The department store partnered with Super Sprowtz, a nutrition education program featuring talking vegetable puppets. Making a celebrity appearance was Mets legend Darryl Strawberry and Food Network star Chef Madison Cowan. The program is designed to teach youngsters about the importance of adopting good eating habits and understanding the source of where food comes from. Fairway Markets was on hand with kid-friendly recipes and fresh vegetables that were made available for sampling. The event was hosted by Food Bank For New York City and a portion of all proceeds from the sale of children’s merchandise, including Super Sprowtz products, was donated to Food Bank For New York City.–Jason D.
