Senator Toby Ann Stavisky, Supporters And Elected Officials, Rally To Get Out The Vote Thursday

Today, following the endorsement by Governor Andrew Cuomo, Senator Toby Ann Stavisky (D-Queens) was joined in downtown Flushing by electeds officials, community and faith leaders and dozens of supporters to kick off the last leg of the Democratic primary campaign for the 16th New York State Senatorial District.

“Today is an exciting day,” said Senator Stavisky. “As we turn the corner on the last phase of this primary campaign, I am humbled to have support both from the statehouse and from our community. I am honored to have the support of my friend and our leader in government, Governor Andrew Cuomo, and to stand here with my friends and colleagues in government and in the community here in Queens.

“This community is a vibrant one, filled with people who come out to advocate for their families and their neighbors. We will win on Thursday because of the energy and determination of the countless volunteers and supporters who have knocked on doors, made phone calls, and spread the word about our campaign. And as we round the bend, I know the success will be delivered because of all of your help and support through the coming days.”

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr., said, “State Senator Toby Ann Stavisky has a long record of dedicated service to the people of Queens and the entire City of New York. On the issues that matter--protecting our seniors, keeping our communities safe, ensuring our public schools are strong--Senator Stavisky has been there for us. It is time to be there for her. I am proud to support my friend Toby Ann Stavisky for reelection to the State Senate, and I urge all New Yorkers to support her with me," said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.”

Senator Michael Gianaris (D-Queens) said, "Senator Stavisky's record of working to create jobs, improve education and ensure care for seniors speaks to her tireless work for this community. She is the best possible person to continue ensuring this community's needs are understood and heard in Albany. She has been a great partner and I am happy to support her reelection.

“I stand strong in my support of my dear friend State Senator Toby Ann Stavisky,  a true fighter for the people of her district,” said Councilmember Karen Koslowitz (D-Queens). “I know how hard Toby works both in Albany and Queens, fighting for the middle class and working families.   The taxpayers of the 16th District will have the best advocate for their needs by re-electing Senator Stavisky in the Democratic Primary this Thursday September 13th.”

Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi (D-Queens) said, “I am proud to support the re-election of Toby Ann Stavisky. During her tenure in the NYS Senate Toby has proved to be a tireless advocate and strong voice for our communities in Albany. Among her many accomplishments, Toby has spearheaded the fight to provide quality affordable higher education for college bound new Yorkers. I am proud to not only call her my Senator but also my friend.”

“I’ve known Toby Stavisky for a long time and knowing her is to know that she cares about the people of New York State and about our communities in Northeast Queens,” said Assemblyman David Weprin (D-Queens).  “I stand with her and our friends in government and the community to say emphatically: ‘we must re-elect Toby.’ And we will do just that. I’m proud to serve with her in the Legislature and look forward to continuing that tradition.”

Assemblyman Edward Braunstein (D-Queens) said, “Senator Stavisky has a long track record of standing up for progressive Democratic values. As the first woman from Queens elected to the State Senate as well as to be Chair of the Senate Higher Education Committee, Senator Stavisky has been a tireless advocate, not only for Queens, but for all of New York State. Senator Stavisky is someone that we know and we can trust to continue to fight for her constituents in Albany.”

"Whether she's up in Albany or down in the district, Toby is an effective advocate and fighter who can truly deliver for her constituents and for Queens," said Senator Daniel Squadron (D-Manhattan). "I'm proud to call Toby a colleague and partner in the Senate, and to stand with her today as we get out the vote and get her reelected."
