Resorts World Casino's Weekend Of Music Celebration Draws Thousands

Queens’ latest entertainment hotspot, Resorts World Casino New York City, continued its full schedule of entertainment events this past weekend, hosting the legendary KC and the Sunshine Band and crowned Crossing Midnight the victor of the inaugural Resorts World Casino's Battle of the Bands – earning them a $5,000 grand prize.
 
Drawing a crowd upwards of 2,300, KC and the Sunshine played several of their top-ten hits, including “Get Down Tonight” and “That’s The Way (I Like It).” This was a great sign of things to come, as the Battle of the Bands brought a dozen bands from the five boroughs to competed in front of more than 1,000 guests to Resorts World to hear the best New York City had to offer – including reggae, indie rock and even country music.

Crossing Midnight capped off the weekend’s musical festivities, earning first place in Resorts World’s first Battle of the Bands competition. With their infectious energy this quintet is a definite crowd pleaser, as their spirited performance induce a hip shaking, toe tapping, head bobbing reaction. Beyond This Point, a New York based alternative soul bandboasting six members, earned the second place prize of $2,000.
 
This past weekend’s musical entertainment line-up is in addition to popular weekly events at RWNY, including Throwback Thursdays – a tribute to everyone’s most beloved ‘oldies’ and featuring appearances by local DJs and popular tribute bands - art exhibitions and celebrity appearances.
