Hunt Shooter In Near-Fatal Rob Attempt
Detectives at the 114th Precinct Squad are seeking help from the public to identify and locate two suspects who critically shot a patron on August 18, during a foiled robbery attempt outside a Woodside strip club.
Cops said two strangers accosted the 34-year-old victim as he left the Starlight Gentlemen’s Club at 49-09 25th Ave. at about 4:40 a.m. on August 18 and demanded that he hand over a gold chain he was wearing. When the man refused, one of the suspects pulled a gun and shot him in the leg, police said. The two suspects fled empty-handed in an unknown direction.
The victim is clinging to life, listed in very critical condition at Elmhurst Hospital Center, authorities said.
Anyone with information on the suspects is urged to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS or click on  www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
The Hotline is offering a $2,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.

Cops Nab Suspect In Astoria Rape
Detectives at the Queens Special Victims Unit are questioning a suspect sought in connection with a July 25 rape at an Astoria residence.
Police last week released a photo of James Peeples, 27, who was arrested this week and taken in for questioning in the sexual assault. The victim identified Peeples as her attacker shortly after the incident, police sources said.
Cops said the 24-year-old woman escorted a male friend to his residence at Astoria Boulevard and 18th Street in the early morning hours of July 25, and later fell asleep on a couch at the residence.
The woman told investigators she was startled out of her sleep at about 3 a.m., by a man who was on top of her, raping her, police said.
The victim told police she pushed the man off of her, grabbed her clothes, got dressed and ran from the residence. She immediately reported the rape to police and identified Peeples as her attacker, police sources said.
The detectives last week released the photo and description of Peeples to the media, seeking help from the public to locate the career criminal. The cops were able to track down Peeples and take him into custody on August 20, police said..
Law enforcement sources said Peeples has a lengthy criminal history that includes several arrests for sexual offenses.
