Tennis Anyone?

Councilmember Jimmy Van Bramer visited the New York Junior Tennis League (NYJTL) at Dutch Kills Park to play a few sets with local children. This year, Van Bramer has supported the allocation of $800,000 from the City Council to the Western Queens program which provides local children with an opportunity to play tennis throughout the summer months. Through their recreational program, NYJTL helps build character by giving local youth the opportunity to develop their tennis skills, leadership potential and various other tools necessary to excel on and off the court. Van Bramer was joined by Program Coordinator Hayden Pilgrim (l.) of the councilmember, parents and local children who take advantage of the program each day throughout the summer months in the tennis courts of I.S. 204.
