Fire Safety’s Hot, Fire’s Not
City fire officials have joined forces with the Flying Karamazov Brothers (FKB) to produce a fire safety video titled, “Safety’s Hot, Fire’s Not”, that promises to spark the interest of viewers, young and old.
The pairing also produced a public safety announcement campaign that focuses on the importance of working smoke detectors and the dangers of unattended, lighted candles.
“This latest effort is an entertaining way for us to reach people, wherever and whenever they are online,” FDNY Commissioner Salvatore Cassano said.
“And while this video is funny, silly and even at times a bit irreverent, we know the valuable information it provides will help save lives.”
The video, funded by the FDNY Foundation, features real FDNY personnel side-by-side with the FKB, as they sing, dance, juggle and teach fire safety information to viewers of all ages.
The video also contains original music composed by the FKB, with lyrics based on actual FDNY fire tips.
The video and the PSA campaign are available at www.FDNYFoundation.org and on the FDNY Youtube channel, www.youtube.com/yourFDNY.
