Grand Opening For Triboro Pharmacy On Ditmars Blvd.
The Astoria community is proud to welcome Triboro Pharmacy a new independent pharmacy. The store has been opened for two months. The owner, John Athanasatos, is a local resident who has been working as a pharmacist for about 10 years in both independent and chain pharmacies. The store offers a variety of services including free delivery to all residents, 10 percent discount for seniors and veterans and free flavoring for kids’ medicines that include a free oral syringe and a special container.
“The flavoring and calibrated oral syringe ensures proper drug delivery with pediatric medicines and better compliance,” said Athanasatos.
The pharmacy also offers multilingual services, with more than 100 languages translated verbally and 15 languages in written form.
Athanasatos noted, “With Astoria being populated with many ethnicities the ability to communicate with residents in their native language is invaluable. It is vital to make people feel comfortable and to be able to counsel them, ensuring proper drug use.”
Other services offered are fax/copy and notary public. MetroCards are also available. Triboro Pharmacy, 37-20 Ditmars Blvd., also carries a wide diversity of products, including items from the Dead Sea, Burt’s Bees and other organic products. The store additionally stocks a variety of surgical products.
This fall, Triboro will administer the flu and pneumococcal vaccinations.
