Edward Webber, a Flushing native and St. John’s University graduate, who majored in accounting and business administration was tapped by Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone to be the county’s new police commissioner. While the county legislature will take up the vote in August, Webber will continue in his current position as the Suffolk County  Acting Police Commissioner.
“He's just the right person at the right time,” said Bellone of his selection.
