Crowley Applauds Approval Of Woodhaven-Richmond Hill Rezoning
On July 27 the City Council approved a 229 block rezoning proposal from the Department of City Planning. Councilmember Elizabeth S. Crowley called the decision a major win for the community, which had been fighting for years to halt out of character development.
“After the council’s vote, residents of Woodhaven and Richmond Hill will finally see an end to development that destroyed the neighborhoods’ characteristic one and two family homes,” said Crowley. “The new zone also encourages economic growth along Jamaica and Atlantic Avenues. I was proud to work with the city council, Department of City Planning and local residents to make this rezoning a reality.”
