Man Found Dead In Astoria
Queens detectives are awaiting the results of an autopsy by the city Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death of a man found between two buildings in Astoria on July 26.
Cops said the body of the unidentified man, about 20-years-old, was found at about 4:30 a.m. on July 26, on the ground near a building at Steinway Street and 28th Avenue.
Police said it appears the man, whose pants zipper was undone, may have fallen from a window at the apartment building.
Investigators are trying to determine the identity and cause of death of the victim.

Valuable Antique Swiped
Detectives at the 114th Precinct Squad are searching for a brazen thief with an eye for fine art, who snatched a valuable 18th century, white jade cup with a dragon-shaped handle from an antique shop in Long Island City on July 17.
Employees at the Antique Reader, at 39-06 Crescent St. noticed the cup, worth approximately $20,000, was missing at about 2 p.m. on July 17 – a short while after regular customers visited the showroom to pick up antiques, police said.
An in-store surveillance camera caught one of the “regular customers” stashing an unidentified item in his bag on July 17, police sources said. “The store manager couldn’t positively say the man took the cup,” police sources said. “But he’s sure that whoever did take it is in the antiques field.”
Cops said Antiques Reader holds monthly or bi-monthly auctions at the Long Island City location. The antique dealer obtained the cup on July 16, just one day before it was stolen, police sources said. The cup was slated for a September auction, the sources said.
Anyone with information on the missing cup is urged to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS or click on   www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
