18th Century Antique Stolen From Long Island City Shop
On July 17, a valuable jade cup was stolen from Antique Reader, located at 39- 06 Crescent St., Astoria. The cup was an 18th century Chinese relic with an archaic style dragon motif, according to the NYPD. The cup was stolen between the hours of 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The employees said that there were five people during those hours-three men and one couple who came into the shop. The jade cup was only in the store for one day before being stolen, as reported by DNAinfo. The surveillance video showed the suspect putting the cup in a paper bag and immediately placing three bags on top, as reviewed and reported by the Daily News. The police department is currently seeking public assistance for locating the stolen cup.
