A Rapper’s Home Makeover
Vanilla Ice, 44, went from being a popular rapper from the 90s to being the host of a home makeover television series called, The Vanilla Ice Project on the DIY cable channel. He visited Woodhaven to surprise a couple who won the “Ice My House” contest. The couple, Marlon and Michelle Pavon, won a $30,000 renovation for their backyard. The Pavons, as reported by the New York Post, were awarded the makeover from among thousands of submissions.
“I’m about to cry tears of joy”, said Marlon, a sales executive for Blue Cross / Blue Shield, as reported by the Post.
The rapper was pleased as the couple’s extended family sang his hit song, “Ice Ice Baby”. “This is a warm and inviting neighborhood,” said Vanilla Ice in the Post story.
The Pavon episode will be the first of the show’s third season, and will air in early 2013.
