Hunt Livery Driver In Attempted Rape
Police are searching for a livery driver who followed a young woman into her Long Island City apartment building on July 13 and tried to rape her.
Cops said the 20-year-old woman exited the suspect’s light-colored Lincoln Town Car in front of her building near 30th Street and 34th Avenue at about 1:35 a.m. and did not realize the livery driver was following her.
The driver followed the victim and ran into the vestibule of her building as she entered, police said.
The driver grabbed the woman from behind and tried to pull down her pants, but she began screaming and fought off the suspect, police sources said.
“She punched and pinched, kicked and kneed the guy until she was able to break free-and he turned and ran back to his car,” a law enforcement source said.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries she suffered in the attack.
The driver is described as a Hispanic male, 20 to 25 years old, five-feet, four-inches tall and 150 pounds.
