Don’t Miss Astoria Park Shore Fest This August
Astoria Park Shore Fest will be held on three Sundays this August, on a car-free pedestrian street. Summer Sundays on Shore Boulevard in Astoria will feature games, music, art, relaxation and fun on August 5, 12 and 19 from 1 p.m until 7 p.m. The Astoria Park Alliance, in coalition with the Department of Transportation (DOT), Green Shores NYC, Build It Green!NYC (BIG!NYC), and other community groups and local businesses have joined together to open Shore Boulevard to pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles for recreation this summer. Astoria Park Shore Fest will be jampacked with fun family programming, opportunities for creative participation and interesting activities. Café tables and chairs will be scattered along Shore Boulevard for relaxing along the waterfront. The Astoria Park Shore Fest is a free event and will be held rain or shine. Each Summer Sunday during Shore Fest will provide entertainment and activities centered on a different theme, as follows: August 5 is “Kids and Family Fun day”; on August 12, local restaurants will bring samples for “Taste the Neighborhood”; on August 19 music will fill the waterfront for “River Jam—a Musical Celebration”.
