Feds, Cops Hunt Armed Bank Bandit
Federal agents and Queens detectives are seeking help from the public to identify and locate a brazen bandit that donned a U.S. Postal uniform to hold up two banks on July 10.
Authorities said the bandit, posing as a postal worker, robbed two CapitalOne bank branches within 10 minutes.
The suspect, dressed inn the Summer postal worker uniform of dark clue shorts and a light blue shirt, walked into a CapitalOne branch on 164th Street in Kew Gardens at 9 a.m. on July 10, where he demanded cash while displaying a handgun on his belt, authorities said.
The suspect walked into another CapitalOne branch on Main Street in Flushing 10 minutes later where he repeated the threat, authorities said.
He walked away with a total of $3,000 from both robberies, police said.
