Cops Hunt First Queens Casino Bandit
Queens detectives are searching for a suspect who held up the borough’s first casino.
Cops said the brazen, unarmed bandit was the first to rob the Resorts World Casino.
The suspect walked into the South Ozone Park casino at about 4:45 p.m. on June 29 and slipped a note to a second-floor cashier demanding cash, police said.
The cashier handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who fled in an unknown direction.
Resorts World Casino opened its doors opposite the Aqueduct Racetrack in October 2011, officials said. The casino generated $57.5 million in May 2012 – the highest revenue of any casino in the nation.
Police are urging anyone with information to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS or click on www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
Officials at Resorts World Casino declined to comment on the robbery.
