Vallone Attends Graduations Throughout District
Vallone addresses graduates at I.S. 10. Councilmember Peter F. Vallone Jr. celebrated with thousands of elementary, middle and high school graduates over the past two weeks, giving commencement speeches at 13 schools in his district and beyond.
Vallone advised students to freely pursue their goals without focusing too much on specifics, while also warning that life is not as easy as it is depicted on some sitcoms and reality shows. After his speech, he presented one student at each school in his district with a citation for public service.
Since taking office, Vallone has made it a priority to attend each graduation in his district, as well as several others. This year, he attended 13 ceremonies including Long Island City H.S., Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, I.S. 141 and the Judge Charles J. Vallone School.
“Speaking to students has always been one of the best parts of my job,” said Vallone. “I just watched my daughter graduate, so I know just how hard those kids worked and how proud those parents are.”
