Civic Leaders Turn Out To Support Iannece Assembly Bid

Community Board 11 Chair Jerry Iannece received a dinner in his honor by local business and civic leaders in support of his candidacy for the 25th Assembly District in Bayside. Organized by Italian American Federation of Queens President Joseph DiPietro (l.) and former Community Board 1 District Manager George Delis (second from l.), the dinner was held at the Istria Sport Club in Astoria on June 27 and was attended by former City Council Speaker Peter Vallone Sr. (c.) who said of Iannece, “This is a man who cares deeply for his community.” Since he announced his candidacy, Iannece has been endorsed by City Comptroller John Liu, state Senators Toby Ann Stavisky and Tony Avella, Assemblymember Grace Meng, Councilmembers Peter Koo, Mark Weprin and James Gennaro. If elected, Iannece (www.ianneceforassembly.com) pledges to put Queens families back to work, ensure that local schools get the resources they need from Albany and increase the minimum wage. Iannece is also President of the Bayside Hills Civic Association and a resident of that community. Community leader George Stamatiades and area businessman George Alexiou of the Greek American Home Owners Association of America were also in attendance as was former Assemblymember John LoPresto (r.).–Jason D.
