Army’s Birthday Celebrated



Queens Borough President Helen Marshall was surrounded by soldiers as she helped to cut a cake with a ceremonial saber at Borough Hall, June 14 in celebration of the 237th birthday of the U.S. Army. Among those on hand for the event were soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division, based in Fort Drum in Upstate New York, who earlier this year returned from duty in Afghanistan. At (l.) is Samuel Mantilla of Queens Chapter of Disabled American Veterans.
