Two Local Charitable Organizations Promoted

The Bayside - Whitestone Lions Club held its last monthly meeting before the summer break on June 6 at the law offices of Vallone & Vallone. The Flushing Club hosted two local charitable organizations that are in need of our community’s support. Nancy Mariano, Louis Laurino and Lisa Horner spoke on behalf of Friends of Karen, annual budget is more than $3.5 million in funding to help support these children and their loved ones. Linda and Mario Rossi spoke on behalf of Chrissy’s Wish, an organization they established in memory of their daughter, Christina and those suffering from depression and mental illness. They discussed their Annual Golf Outing and Dinner, which will take place on July 13 at the Rock Hill Golf & Country Club in Manorville. Proceeds will be donated to the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation in an effort to support those who suffer from mental illness.
