Vallone Honors Cop Of The Year
The 114th Precinct Community Council’s annual Fellowship Breakfast was held on May 30 at Riccardo’s by the Bridge, 21-01 24th Ave., Astoria. Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly was joined by Councilmember Peter F. Vallone Jr., Commanding Officer of the 114th Precinct Deputy Inspector Stephen Cirabisi and Commanding Officer of Patrol Borough Queens North Executive Staff Assistant Chief Diana L. Pizzuti. During the event, Vallone presented Police Officer Phillip Leroy, the 114th Precinct Community Council’s Cop of the Year, with a City Council Citation. Officer Leroy’s many acts of valor included the arrests of two individuals for possession of firearms. “Our cops are working hard and risking their lives every single day to keep us all out of harm’s way,” Vallone said. “Officer Leroy may have saved lives by putting two criminals behind bars and getting two guns off the street. As our police force continues to shrink, outstanding work like his is vital to keeping our community safe.”
