Bikers For A Cause

Councilmember Peter F. Vallone Jr. led hundreds of motorcyclists as the Grand Marshal of New York City Harley Owners Group’s 19th Annual Bikers Against Breast Cancer Run on June 3. The run raised thousands of dollars for SHAREing & CAREing, a breast cancer support service. Escorted by the NYPD Highway Unit, the procession began in Long Island City and covered over 30 miles – ending at Forest Park. Vallone, who rides a Harley Dyna Wide Glide, has been Grand Marshal two years in a row. “The only thing better than riding your bike on a beautiful Sunday morning is riding for such a great cause,” Vallone said. “This is a terrific way to raise money for an important group that has helped so many women fighting breast cancer. The Harley Owners Group and NYPD deserve all the credit for the hard work needed to make this ride happen.” Pictured: Councilmember Vallone (r.) and New York City Harley Owners Group President Joe Sessa leading the motorcycle procession on the Belt Parkway.
