Councilmember Dan Halloran unveiled the sign for the new Lt. Peter J. Farrenkopf Place, 207th Street at 26th Avenue in Bayside.  Lt. Farrenkopf, of FDNY Marine Company 6. Lt. Farrenkopf, who died of a respiratory infection he contracted at Ground Zero, resided on the street that now bears his name. 

"This street is a tribute to a man who gave his life saving others," said Halloran.  "Lt. Farrenkopf was a hero, a family man, and a true American patriot." 

Halloran has two brothers who are FDNY firefighters, and he lost a cousin, FDNY Lt. Vincent Halloran, on 9/11.  Also pictured, on left, is Assemblymember Ed Braunstein.
