On May 24 and 25, the Horace Greeley Middle School, I.S. 10, 45-11 31st Ave., Long Island City mounted their production of the Disney musical Aladdin Jr. This production is based on the collection, Broadway Junior from Music Theatre International (MTI). The MTI Broadway Junior Collection features condensed author-approved versions of classic musicals custom tailored to the needs of young people and schools. MTI works directly with the composers, lyricists and book writers of these shows to provide official scripts, musical materials and theatrical

resources. Contributing were eighth grade leads Jasmine Z. as Princess Jasmine, Kevin B. as Aladdin, Adina R. as Jafar and Deborah O. as Genie as well as I.S. 10’s drama teacher Maria Phillips, vocal coach Shannon Barkeley, costumer Jasmine Aldarondo, assistant principals, teachers and staff who all volunteered the extra hours working on the production.— Maria Haydn Photos Russ Haydn
