Queens Borough President Helen Marshall is seen here flanked by youngsters on the steps of Borough Hall, where she hosted a rally with Campaign for Children to support the restoration of funding for child care, Beacon and After School programs that thousands of youngsters participate in across the borough. Marshall told the crowd at the April 19 rally, that during tough economic times, “The last thing that we should be slashing is essential early education and after school programs that children and hard-working families need to survive.”
