Crowley joined local Glendale and Ridgewood residents on April 21, for the Glendale Civic Association’s “Love Your Neighbor Day”. Volunteers from the Maspeth H.S. Green Club, New York Municipal Credit Union and residents from the neighborhood came together this year on Earth Day to remove trash and debris from the community-shared block. Many students and neighbors came out to rake leaves and weed overgrowth as others collected trash and swept sidewalks and drains clean. The street revitalization and beautification project focused on a cleanup of public gardens, sidewalks and railroad sittings throughout Glendale and Ridgewood. Crowley said, “Earth Day is not just about solar panels and electric cars. It is also about what we can do in our neighborhood to keep our planet beautiful. Collecting trash, recycling and planting gardens go a long way to keep our city clean. I am thankful to the Glendale Civic Association and to all the volunteers who came out and made this event a success.”
