Stavisky, Koslowitz Celebrate ‘A’ Grade For Forest Hills H.S.
For the third year in a row, Forest Hills H.S. received a top grade from the State of New York during 2011. State Senator Toby Ann Stavisky, Assemblymember Andrew Hevesi and Councilmember Karen Koslowitz visited the school to congratulate Principal Saul Gootnick, the faculty, staff, and students for their academic accomplishment.
“Forest Hills H.S. represents the best of Queens,” said Stavisky, who serves on the senate Education Committee, and is a ranking member on the senate Higher Education Committee. “These students speak 192 different languages at home, and yet under the guidance of Principal Gootnick, they come together to succeed as a group.”
“Despite running at almost double its capacity, Forest Hills H.S. continues to thrive,” Stavisky added. “Legislators must support effective educators like those at Forest Hills, and provide them with the resources they need to bring out the best in their students.”
“Forest Hills H.S. is a wonderful school that continues to thrive despite being one of the most overcrowded schools in the city. I commend Principal Gootnick for his great work and know the students of Forest Hills H.S. will continue to succeed,” said Koslowitz.
Assemblymember Andrew Hevesi said, “I am honored to have Forest Hills H.S. in the community I represent. Principal Saul Gootnick and the school’s excellent teaching staff exemplify true educational leadership. Forest Hills High School’s accomplishments continue to be a source of pride for this community.”
