Andean Bear Celebration


The holidays came early for Cisco and Spangles, two Andean bears at the Wildlife Conservation Society’s (WCS) Queens Zoo. Here, the bears tear into beautifully wrapped presents stuffed with tasty treats such as molasses and peanut butter. Zookeepers gave the bears these holiday gifts as a form of enrichment to keep their minds and bodies active and vital. The zoo’s residents got more delicious delights at the annual Presents to the Animals event which continued on December 24 and 25. Visitors watched as the animals received their festive treats.
